Face Forward is throwing a benefit complete with music, art and fashion. Performers include UltraChorus (duhhh), Longshot, Toki Wright, Musab, and DJ Booka B. 18+. $15.00. 8:30. Raising money and awareness for the Global Fund for Women.

We have a super awesome show that is being booked as a triple threat.... that's right, St. Patricks Day, a Birthday, AND a music show. Shit... makes me exhausted just typing about it. But anyways, rest up, and be there wearing green and a birthday hat. Ya know the ones I mean.... the cone shaped little hats with the elastic strap. Little Ghost will appreciate. It's at the 331 in N.E. and it starts at 9:30. Here's how Ghost in the Water is summing up the show:

Private Number (ˈprī-vət ˈnəm-bər) n. 1. A reoccurring electropop dance party hosted by Ghost In The Water, featuring live music and DJ sets. 2. A song recorded by the pop band The Jets. It features on their 1985 debut album, The Jets and was released as the third single from the album in 1986. 3. The most fun you've had in years.

Cake, confetti, streamers, friends... SURPRISE!!!! It's March 17th! This day is not only for donning green, faith and alcohol. No, it happens to also be the birthday of Ghost In The Water's very own Little Ghost! In honor of this day we give you "Private Number III: Birthday Party Edition!". Come celebrate and dance with us to that electropop sound Private Number loves so much! Live sets by Ghost In The Water (myspace.com/ghostinthewater) and UltraChorus (myspace.com/ultrachorus), along with dj sets from those dashing Estate fellows (myspace.com/thedotcommunists) and the birthday boy himself, Little Ghost.

The party takes place March 17th at the 331 Club in N.E. Minneapolis. Festivities get going at 9:30pm, the evening is 21+ and it's FREE!

Hello!!!!! It's been a while. But we have some exciting post New Year events for everyone. First off, UltraChorus has a show January 2nd (that's 2010, remember) with Dada Trash Collage, and the oh so great Red Pens. That ones at the Kitty Cat Klub, you know where that is. That should be a blowout, and we're making it our CD release. So if you're hesitant or just still hung-over from New Years Eve, be there cause I'd love to see you.
Next up, we've got a killer line-up at Club Jager, everyones most favorite and hippest downtown spot. That ones January 8th. We're playing with Ghost in the Water, and It's a Celebration will DJ. Come. Drink. Be merry.

We are Back!

We are back from CMJ/New York/Brooklyn/Vacation?/Work. Only gone for 2 whole days, but it felt like a marathon. Maybe it was all the Thai food, or all the walking with a 40 pound vocal rack. Either way something was tiring. Our good friend Exro was nice enough to have us over during our stay. Up top is a picture of the workstation we set up at his place. Never stop makin' music, that's our moto. Ohhh, and that's my hat on the carpet. A big thanks to everyone who made it out to the shows. It wouldn't have been nearly as fun without you.

More Minneapolis shows coming up over the next few months. If you're local, definitely stay tuned for all the action. And if you're not, think twice before you come here in the winter. It's just around the corner, and although I love them and am praying for an exceptionally harsh winter, most people don't enjoy them. Bring lots of warm clothes and wear them all at once. We've had a couple of shows since last we posted here.... sorry... it's nothing personal, really. It's not that we didn't want you there... we just kinda forgot. But all that has changed now! We are back on top of it, and ready to invite you to JAGERFEST. It will be super crazy cool as it's our first outdoor show. We once played close to an open door, but this is actually outside and everything :) And there's a BBQ starting at 5:00 compliments of Fox Tax. So why not go? Come early, eat some food, watch some music, get lured in by the drink specials, and cancel all your plans. Sounds pretty simple to me. Party starts at 5:00 at Club Jager (923 Washington Ave. N., Minneapolis) and UltraChorus starts @ 6:00. BE THERE!

You may have heard, we now own a record label. Our first signing is a band called "total babe".

They are a group of 17 year old geniuses from south minneapolis, okay like the Lake Harriet part, but that is still south! Their debut ep called "heatwave" is going to wind up being the indie rock story of the year. The product will be hitting store shelves, both physical and digital, on oct 6th. What do they sound like? Well I have been telling people that they sound like camera obscura, only more fun, yesterday someone told me they sound like belle and sebastian, maybe it's like if Nick Drake had a long lost daughter??? I think my friend said it best, and I will quote "they are like cat power, only with good songs". Here's a picture for now, some free downloads will probably be hitting the internet soon... oh check their myspace in the meantime...

So, we've been doing a lot of remixing over the last month. It all started as a happy little accident when our buddy passed us the files for Phoenix "1901". That snowballed into PRGz, then Jamie Lidell, Wallpaper, The Sidechains, Phantoms Revenge and on and on and on and on until we finally hit the Nite Club remix (awesome, by the way!). Most of these remixes were posted somewhere on the internet, but instead of forcing you to navigate the vast and sometimes unfriendly territory of the beast we have packaged our favorites together for convenient download and listening.

What's a Monome? I am still figuring that out, but thanks to Jeff and the soldering expertise of Clara from Total Babe, I now have one (it's awesome to have smart friends). Basically it's a grid of leds and buttons, used to control music applications. We are reconfiguring our live show to be completely tiggered by this device. Pretty much just awesome!
